John Kerry’s Continued Contempt For The Military October 31st, 2006

    John Kerry

    On Monday John Kerry said:

“You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.”

He clearly and unarguably said that if you don’t get an education, you end up in the military. Ergo: military equals stupid. No other conclusion can be reasonably and logically reached. This is yet another example of John Kerry’s liberal elitist attitude and why he has never been in touch with the average American.

Today, Kerry had a press conference that was supposed to clarify/defend his comments but instead he chose to attack conservatives (big shock there) and continue to be dishonest about the conservative stance on political issues. So instead of being the stand-up guy he wishes he could be, owning up to his egregious error and apologizing to the troops, he apologizes for nothing, blames everyone else for his screwup and basically carries on like a spoiled, petulant child. When he runs for President in 2008, his words from Monday and today will definitely come back to bite him in the ass.

To whit, in today’s press conference, Kerry said:

“If anyone thinks a veteran would criticize the more than 140,000 heroes serving in Iraq and not the president who got us stuck there, they’re crazy. This is the classic G.O.P. playbook. I’m sick and tired of these despicable Republican attacks that always seem to come from those who never can be found to serve in war, but love to attack those who did. I’m not going to be lectured by a stuffed suit White House mouthpiece standing behind a podium, or doughy Rush Limbaugh, who no doubt today will take a break from belittling Michael J. Fox’s Parkinson’s disease to start lying about me just as they have lied about Iraq. It disgusts me that these Republican hacks, who have never worn the uniform of our country lie and distort so blatantly and carelessly about those who have.”

But obfuscation, misdirection and deception is routine for John Kerry. He’s done it all his life. Kerry refused to apologize for his comments insulting the troops but demanded everyone else apologize for things he made up out of whole cloth. Kerry claims that anyone claiming he insulted the troops owes HIM an apology. What an arrogant ass! He even stoops so low as to attack John McCain because McCain demanded Kerry be a man and apologize for his comments. So for two days in a row, John Kerry crashes and burns in front of all to witness. More reasons why John Kerry will never be elected President of the United States by its citizenry. Incidentally, Kerry’s remarks from Monday and today bring to mind General Russell Honorè’s descriptive phrase, “stuck on stupid” which applies well to John Kerry.

Other noteworthy blogs covering Kerry’s major faux pas include, but aren’t limited to: BlackFive, Michelle Malkin, Hot Air, Captain’s Quarters, Blogs For Bush, Wizbang, Webloggin’, Rightwinged, Riehl World View, Stop The ACLU, Right Thoughts, Sister Toldjah, Big Dogs, Kobayashi Maru, A Blog For All, Gateway Pundit, Power Line, InstaPundit Dean Barnett, Hugh Hewitt, Right Wing Nation, Ed Driscoll, Austin Bay Blog, Texas Rainmaker, California Conservative, Bullwinkle Blog, Little Green Footballs (first), Little Green Footballs (second), The Political Pit Bull (first), The Political Pit Bull (second), The Jawa Report, Outside The Beltway, The Florida Masochist, Flopping Aces, more Michelle Malkin, even more Michelle Malkin, Woman Honor Thyself, Leaning Straight Up, Citizen Smash.

    Halloween Tunes October 31st, 2006

It’s Halloween and millions of people in North America will be attending Halloween parties complete with music. So what music fits the Halloween motif? Many songs comes immediately to mind such as “Werewolves Of London” by Warren Zevon, “Black Magic Woman” by Santana and “Monster Mash” by Bobby “Boris” Pickett and The Cryptkickers. However if you want to find CD compilations of Halloween music there are many to choose from, some easier to find than others. There’s a great list of Halloween tunes available on Wikipedia. Also, Mark Harvey wrote a good article about Halloween music covering some of the classics as well as some obscure tunes. The 13th Track offers up Halloween music you can listen to online. The online CD store CDBaby has several Halloween CD’s for sale. That should give you some excellent sources for Halloween music and if you can’t get what you need for Halloween 2006, plan now for 2007.

    E. Coli Found In Halloween Pumpkins October 31st, 2006

Investigators have found several positive specimens of E. Coli in pumpkins purchased as decorations for Halloween. Authorities state there is no cause for worry since this particular strain of E. Coli affects only Halloween pumpkins and not humans nor animals according to Mr. Eugene Gumby of the Dept. of Halloween Affairs. As shown in the series of photographs below, pumpkins infected with the E. Coli strain react to the bacteria via projectile vomiting. If you or anyone you know has Halloween pumpkins infected by the E. Coli bacteria, make certain pumpkins nearby are removed from the vincinity and clean up pumpkin vomit to prevent further outbreaks.

    Fall Festival October 29th, 2006

It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown

Friday evening, amidst thunderstorms outside, the church of which I am a member, had their annual harvest festival. Even though the weather was horrid, 25 children showed up and had a great time. The highlight of the evening (at least for me) was the showing of the timeless classic “It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.” It’s hard to believe it was first broadcast on the ABC network back in 1966. It’s amazing how well it holds up today. When I was in a CVS pharmacy recently, I noticed they had for sale figurines of Charlie Brown, Linus and Lucy with corresponding halloween costumes from the television special. Commercialism at its most crass I guess. However, the animated television show is still special and here’s to another forty years for Charlie Brown and the gang.

The Celtics won several NBA championships with Auerbach as a coach and then won several more championships with him as an executive with the Celtics organization. Bill Mumy And His Music October 28th, 2006

    Bill Mumy

On this occasion, I’m spotlighting an artist’s complete library in my collection. In this instance, it’s Bill Mumy. Maybe you’ve seen him on television? Remember “Lost In Space” back in the 60’s? Will Robinson? Yes, that was Bill Mumy. How about “Babylon 5” on TV in the mid to late 90’s? Lennier? That’s Bill Mumy, too. He’s got an interesting and unique musical resumè as well. In the 70’s he teamed up with childhood friend Robert Haimer to create the legendary novelty duo of Barnes & Barnes best known for the song and subsequent video “Fish Heads” (a staple in the early days of MTV and a longtime favorite on the Dr. Demento Show on radio). Mumy also is a member of a band called The Jenerators. However for this entry, I’m focusing on the four solo CD’s from my collection. They all can be purchased via CDBaby and I encourage you to buy them. All four are quite good. I describe his style as a mellow folksy roots-rock with emphasis on the folksy aspect. Mumy also is multi-talented in regards to the instruments he plays. He’s extremely proficient in guitar, bass, keyboards, banjo, mandolin, harmonica, percussion and probably several other instruments as well. His singing style is soft, mellow and melodic. I like listening to his music for the calming effect many of the tunes have on me. All of his albums are well-done and I recommend them all.

For The Record: The Department Of Defense Refutes Corporate Media October 28th, 2006

Department Of Defense's For The Record

Since the NYT refuses to print letters from the Department Of Defense refuting misinformation and correcting errors in their editorials and reporting and since much of the corporate media’s reporting of events in Iraq and Afghanistan has been well documented as being innacurate (both intentional and unintentional), the Department of Defense has articles online giving their side of the story. Now I hear the ultra-liberals cry out that we can’t trust the DoD and that the NYT, Newsweek, Washington Post, L.A. Times, CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, Reuters, AP, etc. are where we should turn to for “the truth.” Unfortunately for those liberal extremists, all those sources have engaged in, either intentionally and unintentionally, erroneous reporting (ex.: fauxtography scandals, fake stories concerning Korans being flushed, false prisoner abuse stories, etc.) and as such cannot and should not be trusted without question. It’s now devolved into something a little lower than “trust but verify.” Fortunately for the public (at least the public willing and able to do a little checking on their own) multiple sources from all along the political spectrum are available online and as such, erroneous reporting can be and is being ferreted out revealing verifiable facts. Since ethics and morals in large corporate media have declined so sharply in recent years, the trust they enjoyed for decades is no more. And although they may and do deny it, they have only themselves to blame.

Big tip o’ the hat to the Blue Star Chronicles for the heads up on this.

Is This Not Treason? October 27th, 2006

    Ted Kennedy

From Webloggin’ and The Absurd Report:

There’s a new book on Ronald Reagan making the rounds, “The Crusader: Ronald Reagan and the Fall of Communism”. Its author, Paul Kengor, unearthed a sensational document from the Soviet archives. That document is a memo regarding an offer made by Sen. Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts via former Senator John Tunney, both Democrats, to the General Secretary of the Communist Party, USSR, Yuri Andropov, in 1983. The offer was to help the Soviet leadership, military and civilian, conduct a PR campaign in the United States as President Ronald Reagan sought re-election. The goal of the PR campaign would be to cast President Reagan as a warmonger, the Soviets as willing to peacefully co-exist, and thereby turn the electorate away from Reagan. It was a plan to enlist Soviet help, and use the American press, in unseating an American president.

Read more about this at Webloggin’ and The Absurd Report.

If this Soviet document proves to be true and valid, what does this say about Ted Kennedy? And what does it say about the liberal Democrats’ cries of “culture of corruption” in regards to conservatives? And if it does prove to be true and valid, don’t hold your breath waiting for the liberal corporate media to cover it. However keep in mind this is a Soviet-era document that could just as well have been fabricated by the KGB. We will have to wait and see if it can be validated or debunked.
