Christmas Video: “Elf’s Lament” (Live) — Barenaked Ladies

I’ve been a huge fan of the Barenaked Ladies long before they hit it big in the United States. To give you an idea, I drove almost 200 miles to find a copy of the original release of their CD “Gordon” many years ago. I actually wrote about my adventures in trying to obtain a copy and it was published in a local music publication that was in existance back then. My first published credit. How cool is that?

Be that as it may, this is Barenaked Ladies’ lighthearted take on Christmas from Santa’s elves’ point of view and was performed live on television.

And here’s a rather clever homemade video for “Elf’s Lament.”

I always enjoyed listening to “Enid.” It should have beaten Celine Dion’s “Beauty and the Beast” for Juno Single of the Year back in ’93.
