Biopsy Scheduled & I Got A Phobia!
The results of the radiation test of my thyroid gland came back and a nodule appears to be dead so the eyes, ears, nose and throat doctor wants to do a needle biopsy. I am freaking out over this periodically due to my huge, massive, gi-normous phobia of needles. The nurse promised me that they will give me a “sedative cocktail” of whatever that will make me where I just don’t care. However I’m not convinced it will help. I hope and pray I am wrong. The last time something like that was done was when I had bloodwork done. I was given some Valium that was supposed to calm me but my adrenaline was going so hard that it didn’t kick in until AFTER the bloodwork. I told the nurse about this and she assured me this would be different. I hope and pray she’s right. It’s now scheduled for tomorrow morning. I don’t want to delay it any longer. The person who will be performing it is the one they send all the scaredy-cats/cowards like me and he assures me that it’s quick and it will be as painless as possible. Fortunately, if such a thing can be considered, that if it proves to be benign, I won’t have to go through it again unless something changes in the future. Please keep me in your prayers and thoughts. I’m gonna be a nervous wreck. A doped-up nervous wreck tomorrow morning, but a nervous wreck nonetheless.
