Tracking Tropical Storm Fay (August 22, 2008)
Tropical Storm Fay finally started moving westward on Thursday but at an extremely slow pace (app. 2-5 mph). Schools in Leon County will be closed today along with schools in neighboring counties. As of this writing, state government offices in Leon County will be open on Friday but that may change at any moment. Also as of this writing no decision has been anounced concerning Florida State University, Florida A&M University and Tallahassee Community College. I have not heard nor read anything concerning county and city government offices being open or closed today. Precautions are being made especially on the coastal areas for possible tidal flooding and floodings around the area are expected. I don’t expect my home to flood but I am worried about limbs breaking and possibly damaging our home and our cars.
