Tracking Tropical Storm Fay (August 23, 2008) [Final Entry]
Tropical Storm Fay has been moving through the area since yesterday and it’s been mainling a rain maker with few wind gusts. We’re experiencing the eastern half of the storm and other than an ongoing flood warning, there haven’t been much in the way of severe weather warnings. As I am writing this, there are heavy thunderstorms to the east movng westward with the storm’s rotation which should arrive here later today IF they hold together (and I have no reason to think they will fall apart). This is obviously disrupting plans we had for today but I’d rather play it safe. I’m definitely going to watch the news on WCTV tonight to see reports concerning Fay.
As indicated in the header for this post, this is going to be the final entry in the “Tracking Tropical Storm Fay” series but I may write followup posts concerning any damage or events after Fay moves on.
5:45pm EDT UPDATE: So far we’ve managed to be missed by the strong thunderstorms moving through the area but right now there’s a line of very strong thunderstorms east of here in Jefferson County that has spawned a tornado in Lloyd, Florida.
