The Council on American Islamic Relations [CAIR] is now upset at cartoonist Chip Bok of the Akron [Ohio] Beacon Journal over the cartoon shown above which is a jab at CNN. Well boo-freakin’-hoo CAIR. Get over it! If you’re that sensitive, don’t read the newspaper. In fact if you THAT sensitive, don’t leave home. EVER! You’ll be doing all of us a favor. Michelle Malkin has more about this and links to Medpundit’s take on it.
Frankly, this whole mess has become so ridiculous that I want to tell each and every person offended by these so-called offensive cartoons to go and kiss my fat, hairy behind (I’m trying to keep this blog as family-friendly as possible). Get a life!

For weeks, you people have been saying, “The civilized world doesn’t kill people over cartoons, we protest and write letters to the editor!” Now, CAIR protests, and you don’t like that, either. Get a life!

I don’t really know what you mean by “you people” but I’m letting it slide for now. Now if you want to know what I have been saying, it is this: if you’re going to protest something at least pick something substantive. The cartoon CAIR is protesting is aimed at CNN, not Muslims or Islam so they [CAIR] look extremely foolish in doing so. Also, I feel a little thicker skin and civility are in order in general for both liberals and conservatives when it comes to disagreements. In this case CAIR could have just said something to the effect of “we disagree with this and here’s why…” and a meaningful discussion might have ensued, however CAIR wants Mr. Bok fired over this cartoon. So excuse me if I think their response is overblown and overly sensitive. Or are you of the opinion that it’s acceptable for CAIR to criticise others but others not to criticise CAIR?
