25 Christmas CD’s in 25 Days - Day 7
B2K has a soulful Christmas CD with hip-hop elements within it (or is it a hip-hop Christmas CD with soulful elements - hard to say - but it’s a good album). Although not as good as the Christmas CDs by Boyz II Men or 98 Degrees in my humble opinion, it’s light years better than NSYNC’s insipid Christmas album from several years ago. “Jingle Bells” definitely has a strong hip-hop flavor while sticking strongly to the main theme. That makes if fresh and fun. Several original songs such as “My First Christmas,” “Rain & Snow” and “Sexy Boy Christmas. ” “Santa Hooked Me Up” is a rap story of what Santa brought the group. “Santa Baby” (featuring Jhene) updates the classic Christmas tune with a “drop-top” automobile and a Rolex but she still wants the ring and not from the telephone. My favorite cut on the CD is B2K’s version of “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town.”
