25 Christmas CD’s in 25 Days - Day 12

One of the more beautiful Christmas CDs of 2006 is Sarah MacLachlan’s “Wintersong.” Some of the arrangements are unusual while some remain quite traditional. For example, McLachlan’s version of “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” slows it down to become somewhat of a torch song in the classic sense complete with the requisite sax solo. I can picture this as a black and white video shot in a smoky nightclub circa 1940’s New York. On a more traditional note, McLachlan does an outstanding job singing “O Little Town Of Bethlehem” and “Silent Night” amongst others. This CD is, in my opinion, one of the best of 2006 that I have heard thus far.

For your amusement, you might want to check out this article on The Liberal Avenger website; it seems that even Billy Idol has a Christmas album out!

Thanksfor the trackback. I’m returning the favor now. Trackbacks on TypePad must be approved (sigh) and my carpenters have had me away from the computer all day. I’ll try not to let this happen again. Your post does show onthe front page of Right Truth.

Feds bust truck trainee who only wants to go forward, and Open Trackbacks
Remember how the 9/11 hijackers only wanted to learn to fly planes, but not land them? Now we have terrorists who want to learn how to drive tractor trailer trucks, but don’t want to learn how to back them up.
