I’ve thought we should pull out of Washington DC and Compton California for quite some time now. Thanks for the numbers to back this up. Of course, you know the USG (USA Study Group) will recommend that we bring Mexico and Canada to the bargaining table to help stabilize the region.

Lets think for a moment. One glance at that paragraph shows it is totally off base. No way 2112 deaths per 160,000 in 22 months comes to anywhere near as few as 60 per year.
2112 deaths out of 160000 would be 1320 per 100,000. If we want an annual rate we multiply by 12/22 (12 months is a year divided by 22 months) is 720. The folks you cite seem to have computed deaths per month per 100,000. Only off by a factor of 12!!!3
Let’s look at gun deaths in DC. Here’s on site: they give the deaths in DC in 2002 as 31.2 - less than 40% of what your source claims.
So, best available estimate I have is that the Iraq death rate (using the figures provided in your source) is 23 times higher than the DC fire-arms death rate (using the source I found).
Conclusion smug Bush apologists should put on their thinking cap before making calims that are demostrably wrong.
