Why Do I Blog?
Once again, I’ve been asked why do I blog. I’ve given explanations, rationalizations, reasons, excuses, etc. in the past when asked so perhaps it’s time to once again attempt to put such reasoning into words.
First off, I can tell you right away that it’s not for the fame. I’m about as anonymous as a grain of sand on the beach at St. George Island, Florida (don’t ask me to explain where that is — do a Google Maps search).
The top two clearcut reasons why I blog are: 1) I have a creative streak that’s gotta be released (to paraphrase John Lee Hooker, “It’s in him, it’s gotta come out.”); and 2) I have fun doing it. I ain’t rich nor am I even close to “upper middle class” so I can’t take vacations, buy a new toy or anything that requires spending money so I blog.
Whereas many blogs specialize with different topics (politics seems to be probably the most common), I blog about whatever inspires me at that particular moment. It may be political in nature. But then again it might deal with football or pro-wrestling or pocket knives or…
Sure, I’d love to get more people visiting my blog and I’d love to earn a living doing this but I’m realistic and pragmatic knowing that I have a handful of folks who come back from time to time to visit while others just happen to wander by via search engines and other sources. I also have no idea how I could earn a living doing this. It would be nice but probably won’t happen. And yes, I do know that I could put advertising on my blog but I don’t like the idea and since I get so few visitors, ads wouldn’t bring in much of anything regarding revenue.
So, I will continue to blog about whatever interests me. And if someone feels compelled to leave a comment, it will be appreciated whether such comments is in agreement with me or not. As long as the commenter leaves out profanity, I usually approve comments. I’ll continue writing my little missives even if the only persons reading them are my lovely wife and myself. This blog — my little corner of the internet — is my miniscule creative outlet and one of the few things I can do for fun. Yeah, I have a very uninteresting life and I’m probably never going to become the next Dave Barry but I’m the first and only me and that’s not bad.

Take ‘In God We Trust’ out of schools=Westboro
Once again we are confronted by the Marxist leanings of our edu-propogandist system. No wonder. It is alright to have the children mock the Muslim religion by pretending to participate in it, you must, but any mention of our national anthem? OH M ……

It’s Time to Use a Secret Weapon in Pakistan
We have here a dilemma. On the one hand, Pakistan has been helping us against the terrorists. President Musharraf has exposed himself to criticism from his own people by being helpful to us. On the other hand, we are supposed…

Rowdy Democrats
I do find it amusing the local Democratic party(Who has an office a half mile from my home), felt it necessary to have police at the meeting. Who would think a meeting of Democrats would erupt into violence? Aren’t they opposed to war?
