The New Orleans Times-Picayune has an article online via NOLA.com about Jimmy Buffett being a big Saints fan. I’ve been a Jimmy Buffett fan about as long as I’ve been a Saints fan. It’s nice when two things I enjoy meld together like this.

The day has arrived that I thought I might never see. Not only were the Saints in the Super Bowl but THEY WON!!!!
I cannot honestly say when I first became a Saints fan but I do know it was in the early 70’s when I was a little rug rat and we lived in northwest Mississippi (the Delta). After we moved to south Mississippi in the summer of 1976 Daddy took me and my brother to our first ever Saints game the fall of 1977. Archie Manning was the quarterback and they were a lousy team. I still remember that game in the Dome. They played an equally lousy team (I think it was the St. Louis Cardinals) and still managed to find a way to lose.
But I quickly grew to love those Saints and over the years I took a lot of ribbing for my devotion to that team. I was a diehard and remained so through my adulthood.
That’s why I am so thrilled that the Saints have won the Super Bowl. This was the first Super Bowl I ever had a major interest in and frankly I just about had a heart attack of two because of the stress. At least it seemed that way. My regret is that I could not be with other Saints fans ’cause I don’t know of any personally here in Tallahassee. My sister-in-law had a Super Bowl party at her home in Biloxi, MS and we texted and called each other during and after the game. I wish I could have been there with them. I’m relying on her to get me the Super Bowl Champ editions of both the New Orleans Times-Picayune as well as the Biloxi Sun-Herald. I want multiple copies because I’m going to frame them and hang them on the wall behind this computer. And if I ever am fortunate enough to have my own office at work, that will be on the wall there as well.
It seems like a dream right now. I’m afraid I’ll wake up and it will be Saturday February 6th all over again or worse yet…I’ll wake up in my recliner with the Super Bowl in the 4th quarter with the Saints down by 4 or 5 TDs.
But I’m not dreaming. It’s real. And I am happy! Giddy even. I really can’t find an adequate word to describe my feelings right now. Anyway, I can’t really get my thoughts together well right now but probably will blog more later on.
Congratulations New Orleans Saints and my fellow members of the Who Dat Nation! This is going to be the most insane Mardi Gras ever!

I am ecstatic! I am psyched! I’m so hyper right now I can’t think straight!
Why?
BECAUSE THE NEW ORLEANS SAINTS ARE NFC CHAMPIONS AND GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL, BABY!!!!!
I have waited my entire life to utter…in this case shout…those words!

I am excited about the playoff game tomorrow. Players who have been injured are back healthy and hopefully will play as they did earlier in the season. If the Saints play with the passion and execution they displayed in the first half of the season they should win this game. On the other hand, if they play as they did in their three losses (the last one really doesn’t count) then it’s going to be a sad day for the Who Dat Nation.
It’s casual Friday where I work so I will be wearing my Saints shoes and Saints knit shirt. If my employers were as casual as my previous employers I’d be decked out from head to toe in Saints stuff. But the dress code wear I work is “business casual” so I’m limited. But I do the best with what I got.

They found him! See FindTheUnknownWhoDat.com for details.
The following is from the website FindTheUnknownWhoDat.com:
In the 4th quarter of the Saints game I saw something exceptional. The camera panned to an old man in Saints gear who was in the stands surrounded by Redskins Fans. The Saints were down by 7 and the Skins were driving on us to try and go up by 2 scores at the time, and it looked like we for definitely headed for a loss at that point. This old guy was still cheering, and actually sweating from what eye witnesses at the game were saying. Most of the posters at Saints Report think that this guy is bringing us some good mojo. Is there any way for us to find out who this guy is so we can get him to some other games? They are calling him Ol’ Man Whodat Here is clip of him in the stands.
In case the link becomes invalid, here’s the clip.
The website describes its purpose:
This site is dedicated to finding the man who inspired us all during the Saints vs Redskins game. We love you man. Who are you?
If you have any information on the identity or whereabouts of this great Saints Fan, please contact us.
People are calling this unknown man an inspiration to Saints fans, the “WhoDat Nation,” all over the world. Read some of the comments to see what I mean. I’ve been a diehard Saints fan since I went to my first games during the Archie Manning era and have never waivered.
