Just finished upgrading to WordPress 2.5 with no apparent issues. The outward appearance is unchanged (I’d like to change the theme but every one I’ve tried thus far doesn’t display all of what I have the way I find acceptable and I can’t afford to have someone custom write one for me. And I don’t know the programming language well enough to do it myself. I do have a couple of blog creation programs but I haven’t figured out how to get them to completely display my current blog so I can make changes and tweak things. So I leave well enough alone.). Things behind the scenes are changed quite a bit and will take some getting use to.

The latest PhotoHunt category from tnchick.com is “High” which can be interpreted as one sees fit. I am not going to do any drug references on this one. I don’t know how many will, but I won’t. However I’m highlighting three pictures taken in August, 2004 at the Perdido Beach Resort in Orange Beach, Alabama. This was a family get-together with my inlaws. They paid for the rooms for themselves, my sister-in-law and for us. There was no way we could afford it. It is a very nice resort and I recommend staying there. We had rooms on a fairly high floor and the three photographs are different views from the balcony to our room.

Illustrates rather nicely the amount of honesty Hillary Clinton exhibits (e.g. - nearly none).

As it has been properly and apty said, “How can you tell when Bill or Hillary Clinton lie? Whenever their lips move.” And once again it proves true. Hillary Clinton recently described her 1996 trip to Bosnia thusly:
“I remember landing under sniper fire. There was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base.”
However video clearly shows nothing like this ever happened. What’s Clinton’s explanation? Hillary claimed in a KDKA (Pittsburgh) interview, “I have written about this and described in many different settings and I did misspeak the other day. This has been a very long campaign. … Last week for the first time in 12 years or so, I misspoke.”
The FIRST time?!? Obviously not. She actually “misspoke” in the same manner in a quote in a Feb. 29 New York Times story and a Dec. 29 event in Iowa. Both times Clinton “misspoke” about making a run for it on the tarmac to avoid sniper fire. This is merely one in a very, very long line of “misspeaking” from the lips of Hillary Clinton. One member of the group in that 1996 entourage was the comedian Sinbad who disagreed with Clinton’s account.
“I never felt that I was in a dangerous position,” Sinbad told the Washington Post last week. “I never felt being in a sense of peril, or ‘Oh, God, I hope I’m going to be okay when I get out of this helicopter or when I get out of this tank,’” he said.
Clinton didn’t recant her earlier statements until several news organizations confirmed Sinbad’s version of the event. Representatives from Clinton’s campaign actually insulted Sinbad when they discovered his more accurate account of the 1996 Bosnia trip in a desparat attempt to discredit him. Typical Clinton war machine tactic. This time it failed. Not surprising that Sinbad is a supporter of Obama.
Clinton claims, “Last week for the first time in 12 years or so, I misspoke.” No, Hillary, that is a lie in of itself. You’ve been caught in thousands of lies. Finally the mainstream media is unable to ignore them or try to cover them up thanks to those not afraid to document them. Hillary Clinton’s argument that she has passed “the Commander-in-Chief test” is simply not supported by her record and this clear attempt at deception further proves she has failed this “test.” She lied when she claimed to have been a key player in foreign policy during Bill Clinton’s administration. She lied when she claimed to have attended National Security Council meetings. She lied when she claimed to have a high security clearance. She lied when she claimed to have attended meetings in the Situation Room. She lied when she claimed to have managed parts of the national security bureaucracy. She lied when she claim to have had her own national security staff. She never did any heavy-lifting with foreign governments, whether they were friendly or not. She never managed a foreign policy crisis, and there is no evidence to suggest that she participated in the decision-making that occurred in connection with any such crisis. These are just a handful of the thousands examples of Hillary Clinton’s penchance to “misspeak.” People with common sense call it “lying.” Bill & Hillary Clinton are well-known pathological liars.
There is no justification nor defense for such lies. And frankly, Hillary Clinton further proves that she is the LEAST qualified to be POTUS.

Hillary Clinton has used Canada as a blueprint of how she wants things to be in America. For example, she wants a Canadian-style health care system which has been shown to not work well with long waits for critical needs being the norm. Clinton also has held Canada up in regards to equality and tolerance. Well, once again, Canada has shown itself to be quite intolerant of Christianity and those promoting Christianity. A recent article in World Net Daily tells of how Canadian authorities have shut down a Christian ministy because its reference materials were “critical” of the beliefs of those who are not Christian. In this instance, MacGregor Ministries, based in Canada, is a counter-cult ministry that explains orthodox Christian beliefs in response to attacks by Jehovah’s Witnesses, radial Islamists and other sects outside the Christian mainstream.
“When a group such as Jehovah’s Witnesses said of our doctrine we’re worshipping a freakish three-headed God (the Trinity), we should be able to respond,” Lorri MacGregor said. “We say, ‘Here’s the doctrine of the Trinity and here is where it is in the Scripture.’”
However taking a religious stand, specifically Christianity, violates Canada’s hate crimes laws, and the ministry was ordered to either make major changes in its presentations, or shut down. I do note that nothing has been done by the Canadian government against other religions that attack Christianity showing a decided double-standard.
“Canada is no longer a Christian nation,” MacGregor said. And she warns that America is next citing similar hate-crime laws being considered by liberals. Currently Lorri MacGregor is moving her ministries to the U.S. and has applied for tax-exempt status which will take up to five years to be granted if all the requirements are met.
What is happening in Canada will happen in the United States if a liberal Democrat like Hillary Clinton is elected POTUS with a rubber-stamp liberal Congress as she desires. The odds are pretty good that something similar will happen if Barack Obama is elected POTUS. One merely has to look at the desire by liberals in congress (Clinton & Obama included) who wish to put not just the “Fairness Doctrine” back in place but make it more stringent than it once was. If you examine the “Fairness Doctrine” honestly you have to reach the logical conclusion that it is designed specifically to limit and even squelch conservative viewpoints, including that of Christian ministries like MacGregor’s. Furthermore, it opens to door to be combined with more “hate crimes” legislation that would effectively limit free speech rights. The possibility is evident and would occur if liberals manage to take over not only Congress (winning more Congressional seats in upcoming elections) but also the U.S. Presidency. This is another reason among many why I can not and will not vote Democrat in November. I’m no fan of John McCain, but I admit the alternative is frightening for the country.

The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre. Then she runneth, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid him. Peter therefore went forth, and that other disciple, and came to the sepulchre. So they ran both together: and the other disciple did outrun Peter, and came first to the sepulchre. (John 20:1-4; KJV)

The latest PhotoHunt category from tnchick.com is “Metal” which can be interpreted as one sees fit. This one is a bit bittersweet for both my wife and me. Hurricane Katrina destroyed and damaged thousands of homes and businesses along the gulf coast. My wife and I have many friends and family there and my wife grew up in Gulfport, Mississippi. One of the businesses we frequented over the past 20 years was a little restaurant on U.S. Highway 90 in Pass Christian, Mississippi between Espy Avenue and Shadow Lawn Avenue called Pirate’s Cove. It was a nice little po’boy restaurant that was one of my wife’s favorites. She introduced me to the place the first time I went down to the coast when we were engaged. Here’s what it looked like before the storm:
And this is what it looked like after Hurricane Katrina.
All that remained was the concrete slab it stood upon as its floor tiles. Nothing else survived.
You may be asking, what does this have to do with this week’s PhotoHunt topic: metal? Bear with me…
About ten months after Katrina, my wife and I had the opportunity to go visit her parents who at that time had bought a new home in Biloxi after losing their home of over 50 years in Gulfport. If memory serves me correctly the folks who owned Pirate’s Cove had built a temporary replacement for their restaurant at Memorial Park on Second Street in Pass Christian, Mississippi.
They reopened in a little metal building still making and serving some of the best po’boys you’ll ever eat. I actually took the photo above December of 2006 and unfortunately they were closed for the holidays but I wanted to take a picture anyway. Unless plans have changed, they plan on building a permanent restaurant on the original site along U.S. Highway 90 sometime in the future. Currently they are located at 350 E Second Street in Pass Christian and their phone number is 228-452-4741. I recommend their roast beef po’boy with gravy and also their oyster po’boy “fully dressed.”

I’ve been a huge Webb Wilder fan ever since I saw him featured on an MTV segment many years ago about the Austin music festival. Enjoy the videos and remember the Webb Wilder credo:

My favorite Webb Wilder song. It is a bit different than what is on the CD.

It’s Easter weekend and I hope your family will be enjoying it together. Saturday is our church’s annual Easter egg hunt (here’s a blog entry about it) and the Preacher is hoping to have over 100 children involved. We sure have enough plastic eggs filled with goodies. It’s also the beginning of “March Madness” for all you NCAA basketball fans. I’m not really into it that much. I don’t do “bracketology” nor do I watch many, if any, of the games. Over the years I’ve lost interest in watching basketball. Oh well. That’s just me.
Anyway, with all that going on it’s easy to forget that it’s Open Trackback Friday! It is your opportunity to share interesting blog entries from your blog by using this blog’s trackback feature.
